Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with silica and boron trioxide as the main glass-forming constituents. Borosilicate glasses are known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion (~3 × 10−6 /°C at 20 °C), making them resistant to thermal shock, more so than any other common glass.

If you are a daily smoker, then you are probably aware of the annoying reclaim that is usually present on your piece after long periods of repeated use. An oil reclaimer can simply be described as residue that is found on your piece. It results from the cooling and solidifying of smoke as it travels through the pipe. It cools down and begins to solidify then sticks onto the surface of your pipe. This usually forces you to keep on cleaning your piece or have to use different pieces for different concentrates.
The good news is that there is an effective way of dealing with this reclaim. Simply get a reclaimer adapter and attach it to your piece. The reclaimer works extremely well to trap all the reclaim thus none of it actually gets stuck to the surface of your pipe. It works very well to eliminate the need for constant cleaning of your piece and you will also no longer have to use different pieces for different concentrates. It also works well to ensure that the heating does not stress crack your piece as it also ends up absorbing most of the heat that is directed towards your piece.

The best thing about is probably the fact that it is also very easy to empty and clean. Once it fills up; over time it does fill up, you simply need to detach it from your piece and empty its contents into a dustbin. More or less, it works the same way that the ash trays do. The amount of time that it takes for the reclaimer to fill up is actually dependent on a number of factors. These factors include room temperature, water temperature, the general temperature of the piece that you are using, the frequency with which you use your piece to smoke, to what temperature you heat the material surrounding the reclaimer and to what temperature you heat the piece that you will be using to smoke. This simply goes to say that the period of time it takes to fill up your reclaimer will solely depend on you.

The fact remains the same though; it is definitely a good idea to get yourself a reclaimer. Instead of having to repeatedly clean your piece or having to repeatedly change your pieces, you can simply get yourself one. You will get to enjoy smoking from a cleaner piece and this will also serve to ensure that your piece lasts for a longer period of time.
